What should I do if someone asks me to pay outside of Stillwhite?

If you're being asked to pay for your dress outside of Stillwhite (eg: a direct deposit or bank transfer), you may be at risk of fraud.

Ask the seller first

Sometimes a seller may ask you to pay outside of Stillwhite simply because they don't know the rules. As a first step, give them the benefit of the doubt and ask them to request payment through Stillwhite chat. You may even send them a link to this help topic.

Report off-site payments

If a Stillwhite seller continues to ask you to pay off-site or through another company (other than PayPal), don't make the payment and report it to us.

To report a seller:

Website

  1. Visit your Inbox
  2. Open your conversation with the seller
  3. Click the actions menu icon at the top of the page
  4. Select Report and complete the form
  5. Click Report

Mobile app

  1. Select the Inbox tab and
  2. Open the conversation with the seller
  3. Click the actions menu icon at the top of the screen
  4. Select Report and complete the form
  5. Tap Report at the top of the screen

PayPal errors

If the seller has requested payment, but you can't continue due to a PayPal error, please ask the seller to follow these steps. If the error persists, the seller may send you a PayPal Money Request directly. This method is safe and the same PayPal buyer protection applies.
