Chanelle flicked off the shoulder piece on her wedding dress once the dancing started to reveal a beautiful strapless sweetheart neckline.
From the bride: "After Theo secretly spent months qualifying and learning to sail, we embarked alone on a sailing adventure across the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. We anchored on a secluded island where Theo proposed to me on our yacht with a personalised rose gold pearl necklace he created himself.
We decided to share our incredible sailing experience with our family and friends by celebrating our love at The Yacht Club in Hamilton Island. I am Sri Lankan and my husband is Greek, so our wedding was filled with gestures from both cultures. We welcomed our guests with Sri Lankan wedding cake, Greek music and dancing, traditional Sri Lankan dancers and Greek Kytherian honey jars and sugar almonds as our boutonniere.
After considering countless bridal dress options and being inspired by many designs, I decided that the perfect person to create my wedding dress was me. I worked with a Sydney bridal dress maker to create a simple, but fun and unique piece to suit the island. My dress had a detachable off the shoulder look which I removed later in the night once the dancing kicked off to reveal a beautiful strapless sweetheart neckline. I knew I did not want a formal floor length gown, therefore the skirt had a layered sweeping effect which was knee length at the front to ankle length at the back. I worked with Melbourne designer Stephanie Browne to create the custom golden cuff to match my incredible golden ivy leaf head crown.
We felt extremely grateful to have so many special friends and family fly up to share this amazing day with us, a day we will remember and treasure forever!
When I sell my dress and bridal jewelry, I would love to invest it into our savings to buy our very first home together!"
