A sunken treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean is just the beginning of this stunning wedding for Queensland couple Bri and Paul.
Diving among shipwrecks off Moreton Island in Queensland Australia, Bri had no idea that her partner Paul was having trouble locating the treasure chest he had secretly sunk an hour earlier. Bri explains "I was swimming to see a turtle but instead was met with a treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean, Paul said “come on babe, lets open it” but I was convinced it was for kids so I kept saying no! Paul insisted and dove down and opened the treasure chest. Up popped a message in a bottle. I finally got it opened and screamed “yes” before barely reading the water soaked message “will you marry me.”
After this tropical proposal Bri and Paul married in the paradise that is Bali.
"We got married at Semara Uluwatu at the Pawana Villa, Bali. We had welcome packs made up to take with us for our guests. We wanted these waiting in each of their rooms when they arrived as a little present to kick off the celebrations. The pack was put in a personalised library bag and contained some lollies, a copy of Hello Bali, and a book on what to expect over the coming week with events, schedule of the wedding day, how to get in touch with us, a thank you, and some information about the local area.
On the morning of the wedding we were lucky enough to have a private yoga instructor take us through a sequence at sunrise, it was such a beautiful start to the day.
As the wedding was in Bali we thought it was important to provide our guests with as many details as possible. We updated our website with frequently asked questions, who the bridal party was, our engagement story, events that we had organized while in Bali and a page with travel packages through our travel agent. We found this to be a huge help in distributing information as we had our guests coming from places across Australia and the world."
