The Dress

With its flattering trumpet silhouette, sexy yet tasteful plunging neckline, timeless ivory lace, and graceful keyhole back, this dress is feminine, elegant, and one of a kind. The gorgeous sweeping train is stunning when fanned out and can be buttoned up with a french bustle for ease of movement after your ceremony.

Let's get real here: a beautiful dress is great, but not if it's heavy, hot, uncomfortable, or impossible to move in. I am happy to tell you, the dress was comfortable to wear, easy to lift the arms in cap sleeves and sit down in despite its fitted shape. I am a bit of a prude and was initially self conscious during fittings that the plunging neckline might prove problematic during the big day, but am glad to report everything stays in its place. Now, it is a wedding gown, so there is a certain amount of weight you should expect, but not anything out of the ordinary from any other gown. It was still comfortable (and fun!) to dance in, and gave a beautiful sweeping motion you will only get to feel this one night.. And the keyhole back and plunging neckline do wonders for temperature control. How's that for practical?

There was no "damage" to the dress except the fact that it was worn once and thoroughly danced in. It has since been professionally cleaned and preserved and kept undisturbed in it's preservation kit--guaranteed for 100 years apparently!

I love this beautiful dress but it serves me no good in a preservation kit tucked away in a closet. I hope it will make someone else just as happy on their special day!

Alterations

This dress was altered to fit--it is a designer size 8 but I typically wear a street size 2 in dresses and am smaller on top than in the hips, so we had to take in under the arms/chest area. I wore the dress with flats, so it is hemmed for a true 5'4 height.
