The Dress
Maggie Marilyn is a New Zealand Designer with a focus on contributing to a transparent, circular, regenerative and inclusive fashion industry.
The style of this dress is the Springing Forth dress and has been produced by the brand in a number of bright and vibrant colours. This dress was made custom using a white silk satin, not a colour that the brand has released as part of any seasonal ranges.
Cut on the bias, the dress hugs the figure from the waist down and then falls away with movement towards the bottom of the skirt.
The short sleeves feature a knotted detail and there is also a small twist / knot at the base of the V neck.
Perfect for a slightly understated, traditional or courthouse ceremony.
Alterations
Dress was purchased as a size 10 and has been altered slightly to fit a size 8 top. The V neck originally plunges deeper to the knot at the waist seam but a small stitch has been put in to lessen the depth of the V. This could be reversed easily and discreetly.
