The Dress

This was a dreamy dress to wear on my wedding day! It is simple and elegant. People had me spinning around and around to see the back. The bodice is beautifully detailed and finely made. It has those classic covered buttons down half of the skirt. We added a bustier under the mesh to give the dress more structure, a choice I was very glad about. The silk skirt, which sits at your natural waist, moves beautifully and can be lifted to a soft bustle in the back--cute and good for dancing. I wore the dress with big, chunky gold heels, making me about 5'7" (5'4" with no shoes.) The skirt is double layered and was minimally altered for length. You would have extra fabric if you wanted lower heels and still to reach the floor. I didn't want a big poofy wedding dress, but I wanted to look beautiful. This dress was it!

Alterations

The dress is a size 2 bodice and a size 4 skirt, combined at the time of fitting. We added a bustier underneath the mesh and flower applique which gives it more structure and made me feel much more held in place without taking away from the delicate feel of the bodice. We went with a size 2 top and size 4 skirt. This made me feel like there was just a bit more ease in the skirt.
