The Dress

Oscar de la Renta work of art! This dress is absolutely stunning. The hand done embellishments and details are accurately represented in the photos and took hundreds of hours to create. The under layer is a pale blue silk charmeuse. The inner corset has proper boning and a built in long line bra. I did not need to wear any other bra or corset. The dress has a permanently altered gathered trumpet skirt in the back that is incredibly comfortable and easy to walk and dance in. It can’t be let down to create a train as it was cut to allow it lay in place perfectly. Due to the embellishments, I chose not to have a train because when bustled it looked odd. Here are the measurements of the dress itself. At the very top of the chest (the strapless neckline) is 36”. At the smallest part (top of the rib cage under breasts) is 24”. At the widest part of the hip is 36”. The overall length top of the neckline to the bottom of the front hem is 50” with two inches longer gradually to the back. My seamstress has worked on gowns for White House formal events to Hollywood red carpet events. Her alterations alone cost $1000. I have not yet had the gown dry cleaned but will upon request.
