The Dress

“Vivianne” A-line bridal gown with cinched waistline and tuck pleats from the 2018 “Amaline Collection” by couture gown designer Amaline Vitale.

Worn once and cleaned following my June 2021 wedding.

Would best fit a regular size 8 (I am more of a size 10 and it was a very firm fit.).

Amaline Vitale is an Australian bridal designer specialising in made to order, couture gowns designed from her Melbourne boutique.

The “Vivianne” style is unique, yet timeless and classic, with a fashion infused influence. Every dress that Amaline creates is designed and tailored to accentuate the female form.

The Vivianne A-line Gown is originally from the 2018 “Amaline Collection” and features a v neckline, tuck pleats, a low back and pockets. It also has a structured bust that will easily suit larger cup sizes. As a couture label, the retail price for an Amaline Vitale gown is typically in the range of $4,000 - $5,000 AUD. I purchased it for slightly less in a sample sale in early 2020, when the collection was being retired from sale.

There is no fabric label inside the dress (removed during alterations), though the fabric is a structured, heavy weight mikado like fabric with no stretch that retains its shape - the store informed me that it was synthetic. The fabric has slight sheen to it and a satin-like finish.

The dress would best fit an Australian size 8. It is a firm fit at the waist, there is no stretch in the waistband and no seam allowance to have the waist band taken out.

Please note the gown I have is an ivory colour - it has a slightly “warmer” tone compared to how it appears in the stock photos from Amaline Vitale (which show more cool-toned white version of the gown).

Being a sample gown, the zip is a bit fussy from being used in store. There is a slight bowing or warp in the zip which made it difficult to put on & I needed two people to help.
There is also some pilling on the lining from walking around my venue which had sandstone floors, but it is not visible unless the dress is inside out.

Every Amaline Vitale gown is a unique design - however you will find that this gown is similar in style to the timeless, classic designs of many internationally renowned designers such as Justin Alexander, Vera Wang, Pronovias, Karen Willis Holmes, Chosen by One Day, Kyha, Suzanne Neville, Jenny Yoo and Maggie Sottero, Essence of Australia, Stella York, Martina Liana.

Alterations

I had the following alterations made to the dress:
* Shorten hem at front only (to preserve train) - I am 165cm tall and wore 5cm heels
* Move placement of straps inwards at the back of the dress & add tulle panels to create v-shape as I felt this was more flattering on me than the original square backless design.
* Shorten shoulder straps.
