Your platform is well done. It was good to get a general feel for what existed, before I went into an actual bridal salon (to discover what things looked and felt like on me), and then I could start using the filters to find my dress. The 'near me' filter didn't seem to work, either because of browser settings or no dresses (also possible, I live in a small place)

I had a pretty rough experience with the first dress I tried to purchase. We spent 2 months going back and forth on how to get it shipped from Australia to the United States. I ultimately had to cancel with her as she told me she was unable to ship. Another issue I ran into both times when purchasing was when I tried to pay via PayPal, PayPal would immediately flag the purchase as potential fraud (because of the size of the purchase, I think) and cancel the sale. Both times, i had to go back to the seller and ask them to re-submit the offer so I could purchase again. However, once I purchased again, a few days later I would get a double charge to my card as the initial first transaction looks like it went through in my bank. I had to file PayPal disputes and call my bank on both occasions. Overall, I am happy to have received the dress of my dreams for 1/3 of the cost but it was quite a painful process.

Other than a few costs to put the dress up and a bit of a cut taken from the profit it was easy to sell dress and meant I wasn't having to have people come over to my house etc. I recommend putting price up a little as I didn't realise they took also a cut off the top of the sale as well as the initial advertising. In saying that I didn't read into it much when uploading and happy it sold within a few weeks.

I think the website is good but it is unfortunate about not being able to return. It’s very hard for a bride to pay for a dress and not have any backup after. In my case I purchased a dress that was advertised as a size UK10 when in fact it was a UK8. The dress does not fit me and now I’m left to try and sell this myself.

I will never share a recommendation for your surface simply for the selling experience. Do right by your seller. Be upfront about how you will be forced to use PayPal, they will take a fee, and then hold your money for three weeks breaking the policies they have in place - I had to fight every single day to get the money I was due. The buyer had the dress for two weeks before I received payment. You should let us use our own payment service.

The concept and platform are great. The dress is great. However, one of the biggest challenges I see is international shipments and the seller's slow response. The dress we purchased was coming from Canada to the US, and I was concerned about importing (as noted on your site). I researched and sent recommendations to the seller AFTER we agreed on a reduced selling price. The seller accepted my offer, but then was traveling while I waited for her to confirm how she would ship. Given her delay in responding, the offer expired, although I told her I would proactively purchase the dress even before she confirmed. By the time she returned from her travels, she noted she had had another offer, and instead of reinstating our original agreed-upon price, she jacked it up another $100 OVER the original selling price, putting me in a bind to purchase and not lose the dress. The shipment was ultimately delayed 5 days, with no updates until just hours before. At the end of it all, we are very happy with the dress but international shipping and the seller playing games is tricky and doesn't make for the most optimal experience.

Stillwhite search is really easy to use and to navigate. My complaints is PayPal automatically switches the currency and doesn't give you the option to pay in the sellers currency. This would have ben preferable because PayPal currency conversion rate was so bad. Another thing was my seller inputted my address in wrong which caused complications in delivery and also lied about some details of the dress. Ultimately I wanted to keep the dress and will pay to fix it but there is nothing your site does to help in these situations. The only option is to fully return the dress.

The platform is a fantastic idea but the execution is pretty difficult to navigate. It might just have been my experience but buying internationally from the US to the UK cost me much much muchmore than I was expecting. Not including shipping calculators really leaves the buyer at the mercy of the seller. My seller was amazing but we struggled with the shipping. She had to go to three different groups to try and get a reasonable quote. It ended up costing 3x what I’d budgeted and the import taxes I’d calculated online were less than half of what UPS charged me to release the package. Weeks later and the seller and I are still working to to settle the discrepancy in the shipping charges. She is a saint and I’m lucky she’s so honest. She could have just pocketed the additional money but she is looking at how to return it to me.

I think the platform could be great when a dress works perfectly for the buyer, but I lost a lot of money ($300) on a dress that didn't end up fitting me when a seller didn't provide sufficient photos to demonstrate that the dress would be completely sheer in the back. I would only recommend stillwhite to someone in a financial place to take this risk. As a law student without an income, this loss on a dress that didn't work was not ideal.
