A chance meeting at a beach party in Costa Rica brought together Rebecca from the United States and Yuval from Israel.
With their first date in London, a romantic proposal in Paris, it seems only fitting that a wedding in Santorini would capture this couple's adventurous spirit and love for travel.
This wedding celebration in Santorini included a cruise on a private ship around the island, a cliffside ceremony at sunset, dinner and a party on a black sand beach.
"I love you because you're not a rock that ties me down. We are like two birds flying the world together, and there isn't anyone I would rather choose as my life adventure partner."
"Yuval and I have our own ideas about the kind of life we want to live, and our wedding reflected that independent streak as we weaved in our own mix of Jewish tradition, family heritage and life experiences and passions. It was important to us that our invitations weren't made from a personalise-your-own predesigned template - we wanted them to be uniquely "us" and to set the tone of our wedding weekend. Yuval's spirit animal is an elephant, and mine is a frisky goat - they can be found hidden in the design of our custom paper-cut invitations.
I didn't want a strapless dress like everyone else - and not only because I have fat arms. :) I knew I wanted something unique. My sister came to visit me in Australia, and we found my dress by designer Mariana Hardwick after just an hour trying on dresses in our first shop. We spent the rest of the afternoon drinking tasty cocktails - it was a great day!
Our kitty Rupert couldn't make it to the wedding, of course, so we ordered a personalised cake topper with him on it. The Etsy designer referenced photos of my dress and of Rupert to make it very realistic!
We relied heavily on our wedding planner for the details, sending her some themes and wedding vibes we liked from Pinterest. Yuval and I preferred to concentrate on the things that mattered most to us planning a fun weekend itinerary for Santorini, where our friends and family from all over the world would meet for the first time! My best wedding planning memory was when we spent one cosy winter evening drinking wine and listening to the soundtracks of our favourite movies, to pick our processional song."
Having relocated to Sydney, Rebecca is planning to donate part of the money from selling her wedding dress to the RSPCA (charity against cruelty to animals) and the rest will be used to help fly her Mom to Australia visit.
