Maria was able to bring a touch of her adopted Australia to her wedding in Argentian by wearing a dress by Australian favourite Anna Campbell.
Maria & Juan met when they were 15 year olds, as classmates at high school. "Juan was this attractive and cool teenager with a strong self-confidence and long blonde hair up to his shoulders… but yet not really my style at that time.
So there we were, dating other people and growing old and apart, until one day, 7 years later, we met at a birthday party. We were both single and, in my case, still recovering from a broken heart. It only took an exchange of glances to realise that it was our moment. We dated for 8 wonderful years, facing lots of challenges together such as leaving home in Argentina and moving overseas to Australia. It wasn’t easy, but here we stand now… 8 months married and counting!
We got married at a small chapel in Fatima, a small town in the countryside of Buenos Aires, Argentina. We wanted an intimate affair to be able to share as much a possible with our families and our closest friends. And so we did at our vintage, rustic wedding and reception held in a renovated barn. We will treasure that day for ever. Due to the distance, families and friends were wholeheartedly involved to make it perfect. So our wedding was a lot more than just the two of us choosing us for life, but our families and friends uniting in the warmest harmony. No wedding planner needed, when there was so much love in the air!
Choosing my dress was a very emotional process. Though we met lots of new friends in Australia, there are some moments in life when you just want to be with you mom, sisters and best friends. So with great effort and lots of love, they got together quite a few times and waited until midnight or later, to be by side via Skype, Facetime… Honestly (and luckily for them), I didn’t try too many dresses. I’m the kind of girl that wears jeans and t-shirts as much as she can, but when I tried the Anna Campbell 'Giselle' on I knew it was the right one. It was love at first sight. It was a simple gown but I knew it would make my groom’s heart skip a beat on our wedding day.
Now our plans are to expand our family. So as much as I’d love to keep this gorgeous dress, we need to budget for the arrival of the new little one. However, I really hope this beautiful gown gets to show all its glory again and makes a bride feel every bit as gorgeous as she ultimately is."
