French lace, pearls and beads, Iris' wedding dress is embellished to perfection.
From the bride "We had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony the day before the wedding. It was the perfect opportunity for the both of us to sit back and spend time with our friends before all the craziness of the big day.
For me, one of the easiest part of planning our wedding was finding my wedding dress. I wanted something modern, yet elegant, to make a statement. I knew Leah Da Gloria would be the perfect person to create that for me. Trying my dress on my final fitting appointment was surreal, it was everything I had imagined it to be and more.
I love the intricate detail that went into the bodice, and how the bold patterns have been balanced out perfectly by the feminine cut of the dress that accentuates all the right places. It's definitely a dress that you can appreciate from afar and close up.
Our wedding was interstate, we live in Sydney and the wedding was in Melbourne. Planning an interstate wedding was a little tricky. We flew back and forth several times, I relied heavily on social media to find my suppliers and hair and make-up artists.
Our reception was at the Park Hyatt Ballroom in Melbourne. I love the grand marble staircase that led to the foyer entrance. The ballroom itself was unique, it was circular in shape with a sunken, parquet dance floor beneath a silver leafed dome and silk lined walls in shades of silver and gold.
My sister is getting married next year in Italy on the Amalfi coast, so with the money I receive from my dress I plan to put it towards a long holiday in Europe and finally tick it off my bucket list."
