The Dress

This was one of the very last dresses I tried on after going to about a dozen wedding dress boutiques in Manhattan – it was tucked away at the famous Kleinfeld! After trying on what felt like hundreds of wedding dresses (I was very picky), they all began to look the same to me. I wanted something a little different, but not too different to the point of trying too hard. I wanted something timeless – not an “in-the-moment” style that would lose its beauty after a couple years. I wanted to be able to look back on my wedding photos 30 years from now and still love the dress (unlike my high school prom dress that I look back on and wonder, “what in the world was I thinking?!”) I wanted a dress that photographed well - I felt like so many dresses end up looking pretty similar because the special details tend to get washed out in photos. If a beautiful dress looked basic in my iPhone photos, I’d nix it as an option. I wanted a dress that was classy and simple, but I also wanted to make sure that it didn’t look boring or conservative. This off the shoulder look with a low neckline was perfectly sexy, and the low, lace-covered back added an even sexier touch. I also loved the fitted mermaid silhouette with the dress flaring out from the knees - it was so flattering. This was the absolute perfect dress for me and encapsulated everything I wanted!

Boning was added to the bodice to enhance the structure of the waistline, giving a more secure fit.
Buttons were added down the back for a custom-detail to this dress.
Hem was shortened - I'm 5'5.5 and wore 3.5' in heels.
Off-the-shoulder sleeves were taken in to fit arms.
Taken in at the waist, and thighs/hips - I had lost a little weight since the time of purchase. Please reference the body measurements and street size that I listed in order to determine if this dress will fit you.
