About the Dress
This Essense Of Australia dress was my dream dress; simple, elegant and so beautiful! I wore it for my entire wedding in September 2024 and was extremely comfortable all day, including when walking, sitting down to eat, and dancing through the night!
The dress features spaghetti straps which are subtle but very sturdy, and did not rub/dig in at all. The underskirt/petticoat give the dress a lovely shape and fullness, but the satin fabric on top means it moves beautifully with you.
The sheer back with white boning made me feel so elegant, and adds just the right amount of detail to an otherwise understated dress.
The bow on the back was custom made using the exact same fabric as the rest of the dress. It is detachable (and the mechanism works very easily), and can either sit high or lower depending on your preference (more photos can be provided). I got so many compliments on the bow, I’m so glad I asked my seamstress to add it!
The train is cathedral-length with small white buttons spanning the entire length of the dress. The buttons only fasten to just below the bow, the extra buttons thereafter are purely for detail purposes. The dress also fastens with a zip, which is hidden by the button details.
The train can also be bustled with a very simple mechanism to give a slightly shorter length (as seen in the final photograph). When bustled, the entire dress grazed the floor for me when wearing small heels.
I have had the dress dry cleaned, however there remains a couple of small areas of dirt on the train. These areas are hardly noticeable, and I am happy to send photos of these areas to anyone who is interested.
If you would like to try on the dress, please contact me to arrange to view/try it on (I live in Gloucester). I am a high street size 10, and this dress has been altered to fit me. I am asking for £1000 as although the dress currently retails at £1400, the custom made bow was an additional charge on top of the RRP when I bought it, so the actual combined cost was £1650 (plus alterations).
I am also including my veil (originally bought for £280) which is white with small pearls throughout. It fastens with a comb grip and stayed in very easily all day, including when dancing. It looked gorgeous with the dress and the pearls perfectly complemented the simplicity of the dress. More photos of the dress and veil can be sent on request, either of the dress now or of my wedding day.
Alterations
The length of the dress was altered as it was originally too long. The bust and waist/hips have also been altered to fit me (taken in slightly).
The bow has been custom made and there have been slight adjustments to the back of the dress to allow for the bow to be fastened to it.
A very small, clear button has been added to the train to allow for it to be bustled.
