About the Dress

This Jessica Coutures dress was an absolute dream to wear on my special day. I wanted something that was romantic but simplistic that would match our beach wedding! It has a slit that goes up the left hand leg which made it a bit more modern. The back detail was my absolute favourite and was a real wow factor with all the guests.
I really wanted to still feel like a bride at my ceremony but so I purchased the overskirt and altered it to make it a bit more full so I could still experience that ‘real bride’ feeling that I always wanted to have! I got to have the best of both worlds by then being able to take it off at my reception, pin up the train of the dress and dance the night away quite easily.

This gown is a size 16 (bridal size) but I would have been about a 14 in real clothes when I bought it. It was altered down to fit a size 10-12 as I was postpartum when I ordered it so it had to be taken in after I lost quite a bit of weight. I also had detachable Tina sleeves that hang off the shoulders made but I did not end up wearing them on the day. It is in excellent condition, ready to make its next bride feel as beautiful as I did. If you’re looking for a dress that combines sophistication with a touch of whimsy, this is the one. I can’t wait for it to find its new home!

Alterations

I had quite a bit of alteration completed on it by Raffaele Ciuca alterations:
- Hem of the dress was shortened 106.5cm.
- All of the buttons on the back were secured tightly.
- The bodice was taken in to fit my body which is around a size 10-12.
- I added fullness to the overskirt by adding tulle underneath.
- I had detachable Tina straps made that hang off the shoulders (I never actually ended up wearing them so they are untouched.)
- I had a bustle added.
- I had 2x extra strong boning added to the front for extra support.
