About the Dress

I ordered this dress in October of 2023 and received it mid July 2024 before my October 2024 wedding. I was lucky to have time on my side to have this dress made in time, but I was a little nervous after visiting a dress shop and being told we may need 1 full year for a lead time. So I’m hoping a Spring/Summer 2025 bride will be able to love her as much as I do!

Mimi is a very comfortable tulle dress with beaded and sequin appliqué flowers along with some crystals. She really sparkles in the light! The spaghetti straps have some stretch to them and I felt secure all day. The bodice is sheer with visible boning. The skirt has multiple layers so while it is also sheer, it is enough to cover everything but I did wear nude colored underwear as white was visible. I had ordered a true white veil and an ivory veil since the color of the dress was listed as ivory. I ended up using the true white veil to match the beading and details on the dress as one of the layers in the skirt is more ‘champagne’ than ivory in my opinion so the ivory veil looked yellow next to it.

I absolutely love this dress and felt so beautiful and comfortable in it all day! While I would love to keep her, I simply cannot justify knowing I’ll never wear her again and knowing she can make someone else feel the way I did on my day. I took great care of her - there is no damage from the wear and I had her professionally cleaned by Wedding Gown Preservation Co. (cleaned only, of course).

Alterations

I purchased the dress in a size EUR 44T/ US 18T based on my initial measurements but lost weight before my wedding and had it taken in a bit by my seamstress. On my wedding day it fit perfectly and I believe this fits like a true size 6. My measurements for my wedding day were:
5’7” and wore 2.5 inch heels
Weight 155lbs
Waist measurement 29”
Bra size 36A/34B

Due to the sheer bodice, I had my seamstress add cups to the dress and I also made the bust cups a little smaller. I also asked them to add buttons for a Ballroom or what they called a French bustle so I could pin up the train to dance. I have included photos of the train and also with the bustle in place.
