Vera Wang

This Vera Wang gown was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue’s bridal sample sale in Manhattan and was part of Vera Wang’s spring 2004 bridal collection (2004 retail price: $3200; I am happy to send you a copy of the original receipt upon request—Still White only allows so many photos to be uploaded).
Beautiful netting folds intricately to create a flattering waist and beautiful tie at the back (the tie can be adjusted as you see fit). This dress is gorgeous when you’re walking. Satin underlayer under the 3 layers of netting. Very comfortable and, of course, expertly constructed. Size 8. Soft ivory or off-white color family (that is, this is not a stark white dress). Description from the original listing on verawang.com: “fitted sheath with wrapped bodice, tie back, wide set straps and godeted skirt.”

I am 5’10” without shoes so the dress would be perfect for another tall girl. (In the photos of me in it I am wearing 2” heels.)

Following our wedding I had the dress professionally cleaned and preserved in a box (I can message you a copy of the certificate upon request). There are some wrinkles to the underlayer that would need ironing out (this was from me pulling it out of the box a few months ago, and not getting the underlayer perfectly smooth when I put it back in). I think it makes the most sense for the buyer to have it professionally pressed after arrival (to ensure it doesn’t wrinkle in shipping). On the sequin detail below the left strap you will need a few stitches added, as some of that detailing is starting to separate from the dress—a very simple fix for a seamstress but I don’t sew (the photos show how minor this is).
