About the Dress

I had the joy of wearing this stunning Oscar de la Renta wedding gown for my wedding on October 1, 2022, in beautiful Watch Hill, Rhode Island. After trying on countless dresses from designers like Carolina Herrera, Berta, Marchesa, Ines Di Santo, Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang, I fell in love with the gown’s perfect balance of simplicity and uniqueness. The intricate bodice is timeless yet captivating, paired with a flattering mid-low back. I added a custom detail to the bow to ensure it drapes elegantly, and the detachable train makes it perfect to transition from ceremony to reception.

This dress remains close to my heart, and I’m excited for someone else to have the opportunity to experience its beauty! It has been dry cleaned, though there is wear at the bottom, as Hurricane Ian hit just days before my outdoor wedding at a private residence. This gown was originally purchased at L’elite in Boston, MA, and I hope it finds its next perfect bride!

Alterations

Alterations included hemming the bottom, securing the bow detail on one side for added structure, custom padding to maintain the bow's shape and drape, and shortening the inner bodice to preserve its structure while ensuring a comfortable fit without pressure on the hips.
