At 48 years old, I didn’t believe I would buy a wedding dress for my wedding until I saw this gown from Needle & Thread.

I really feel it suited me completely. The style of the dress felt contemporary with nods to vintage style and the colour of the dress ‘champagne’ very much added to that contemporary/vintage vibe.

I paired the dress with gold shoes and flowers in my hair, but I feel you could accessorise it to look completely different.

Fit-wise, the dress just sits on my body. There’s no tightness anywhere. There’s some weight in the skirt, but that will be reassuring on a windy day.

I wore the dress all day the length was very manageable for getting in and out of cars, walking up and down stairs and there’s a nice amount of swish in the skirt for dancing.

The lace sleeves and v neck kept me cool.

We were married in June on a seaside pier. I didn’t feel comfortable in that location in fact I felt like a queen for the day.

Since the wedding the dress has been laundered and boxed in tissue paper.

This is a dress that doesn’t wear you. You’ll feel beautiful and at ease.
