Unique two-piece dress, one-of-a-kind commissioned design by Sarah Foy Couture of Dublin. I wanted something contemporary and different for my wedding, but with a classic and elegant feel.

The top is white satin overlaid with ivory guipure lace - Felipa, a lace of interconnecting arcs, in a design that merges art deco and modernism. The front has a round neck and at the back a ‘v’ neck, with 8 covered buttons. The top has bra-retaining straps at the shoulders, so you can wear a normal bra under the top, and keep it in place.

The full-length skirt is of hand-dyed tulle, graduating in colour from a deep blue at the bottom to pale at the top. The waistband is also deep blue, to define the transition to the top. The skirt is shorter at the front than the back, so it flows beautifully but also won’t trip you up.

The skirt and top have both been professionally cleaned, both were worn only for the wedding day and are in excellent condition other than a small tear in the rear of the underskirt (at the bottom), where I put my high-heel through. This can’t be seen when wearing the skirt.

I had a beautiful day for my wedding, the dress had just the feel and effect I was after and was very elegant and striking, but also was comfortable. This was important as I could relax and enjoy and amazing day of fun. I wore the dress the entire day, through dinner and after, with a lot of moving about and it was easy to wear throughout the whole time. I am 177cm tall and wore quite high heels with the dress, but then flats after and it worked with both.
