The Dress

This was the modern elegant sophisticated chic dress of my dreams! The crepe is absolutely beautiful and lays smoothly and its casual-ness is offset by the stunning bodice and off the shoulder sleeves. My least favorite body part is my upper arms, so this dress perfectly shielded that while enhancing my other curves. As the designer states, it’s definitely curve hugging! Low key sexy but always elegant. The detachable sleeves were my favorite part - they are simple elastic that you slide up and they stay up underneath the off the shoulder tulle, no complicated attachments necessary. Easy to slide off for a new look. It’s hard to let go of this beauty, but I’d love her to help another bride shine!

I had the dress professionally cleaned and preserved. See last photo for the receipt from Wedding Gown Preservation Co that indicates there is NO DAMAGE to this dress. I am keeping it enclosed in the preservation box for its safe keeping in transport to its next bride.

From the designer: “Bardi is a curve-hugging wedding gown made in crepe or satin and lined with Italian stretch lining. Light crimped tulle drapes gently off the shoulder, with a detachable sleeve rendered in the same mesh. The bodice is finished with a gentle V which is mirrored at the back. The skirt is a modern mermaid with a 65-inch train.”

Alterations

Bodice: bodice was altered to bring in the waist to my dimensions (26”)
Off the shoulder: a few inches of elastic added for more freedom of movement in my arms (huge benefit!)
Sleeves: sleeves were shortened slightly to not be too long on me. The elastic that holds them up on top of arm was also increased a bit to not cut off circulation to your arm! (Was made for twig arms I swear!)
Length: length shortened to suit 5’3 plus 3” heels
Bustle: simple bustle installed
