It is time for me to reluctantly part with this elegant, high-waisted gown, as I have realised that I will no longer have occasion to wear it, and have also put on a few kilos since I got married! It was made by Auckland-based award-winning designer and dressmaker, Nicola Dawson, based on a design I spotted on the internet, so you won’t find another gown like it in New Zealand. It was created from champagne or pale antique gold georgette, with satin lining and bead-encrusted fitted lace bodice and sleeves, and cost $2,700. It is just gorgeous to wear, as the graceful, full skirt flows beautifully, and makes you feel like a princess.
The gown is in perfect condition, and was dry-cleaned after the wedding. It would fit a size 10, and although I am 173cm (5 feet, 8 inches) tall, the length could easily be adjusted.
The first photo is the original design my gown was based on - the colour is different, but all other details are the same.
