The Dress

This Oriana Vivienne Westwood dress from her 2021 bridal collection and purchased from Browns Bride, Marylebone, London in 2023. This beautiful dress has the classic Vivienne Westwood silhouette, the long line corset is delicately draped in ivory silk cady accentuating the décolletage, with a high slit skirt (which isn’t always obvious) and a train.

I had tried on many dresses at incredible boutiques but as soon as I tried the Oriana on, I knew it was the one. The corset makes you feel well supported and just amazing. The fabric is a flattering ivory silk that falls beautifully. The dress was very comfortable, I wore the dress for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and then changed before dancing commenced, although wish I had stayed in it all night as my second dress didn’t compare. The dress has a wrist strap so you could easily dance all night in it too.

It is a size uk 12 but I am a consistent size uk 10, these dresses come up small and it fitted my size 10 frame perfectly.

I adored wearing this dress and am so pleased how it looks in all our photos. I want someone else to get as much enjoyment from it as I did.

The dress has some minor pulls on it but they aren’t obvious at all when you’re wearing the dress and the zip pull has discoloured but again not obvious when you’re wearing it.

I had the dress dry cleaned for £250 at Bentleys Dry Cleaners in Mayfair, a wedding dress specialist who came recommended from Browns Bride.

Alterations

I am 5ft 7 and I wore 3 inch heels so 5ft 10
in total. I had the hem taken up slightly to sit perfectly on the floor and the bottom of one side of the slit hemmed up to aid smooth walking but it could easily be unhemmed. I am a consistent size UK 10 however this dress was a size 12 as Vivienne Westwood dresses come up quite small. It fitted me perfectly and I didn’t have any alterations to the hips or waist. I had two tacks put in on the neckline to provide a tiny bit more neckline coverage but these could easily be removed.
