The Dress

The dress is gold satin with a fitting bodice covered in lace, sequins, pearl and crystal beading. There is two layers of white lining (one a petticoat) and four layers of cream tulle so the gold is not that obvious in the skirt and overall looks like a vintage dress. The style of our wedding was Art Deco, a nod to my hometown.

I felt a million dollars in this elegant dress as it flattered my hourglass figure. When I moved, the beading was subtle and eye catching and spectacular when I danced our first dance.

Importantly, it felt secure on my frame as I didn't want to worry about any awkward wardrobe moments and I could focus on the day. Although I have a large bust (DD) it would look better in smaller busts.

This dress reminded me of a dress Carrie Bradshaw wore when she was trying on wedding dresses in the first movie of Sex in the City.

It has a ridiculously long train that could easily be shortened. The dress has been stored in a special box with acid free paper after professional bridal dry cleaning. On inspection today, the dress is in perfect condition other than a dull grey mark on the edge of the tulle, three layers down from the top. I have handled the dress with white cotton gloves. I have the Certificate of Authenticity.

Alterations

Off the rack. The only adjustment was shortened for my height. Falls to the ground on me with 10cm gold heels.
