The Dress

This was truly the dress of my dreams - Katherine Tash “Bella” gown.

The dress was purchased in a US size 8, which according to Katherine Tash size guide measures as follows:

Bust: 93cm
Waist: 72cm
Hips: 100cm

I am a lot smaller up the top, but had to take this size for my hips. When I purchased the gown my measurements were:

Bust: 80cm
Waist: 66cm
Hips: 98cm

I lost some weight by the time the dress arrived (measurements as per description), but as it is a slip dress the alterations were quite minimal. I only had it taken in a little at the hips, taken up for my height, and otherwise had the lining removed from the train and had a finger loop added to the underside of train. I had the lining removed from the train at the recommendation of the seamstress to make it a little easier to walk in, as the lining was not attached to the actual dress so they kind of went in different directions as you walked.

As the dress is a slip, it is quite forgiving in terms of the sizing.

I am also around 169cm tall and my heels were 10cm.

The dress has been dry cleaned and is in perfect condition in its original bag. It truly was an incredible gown and I would choose it a million times over.

Alterations
