About the Dress

The Margot Gown is the absolute perfect wedding dress if you're looking for a gown that does not hug too close when on and feels so magical to wear! Absolutely loved that the dress was flowy when walking as well as having the split in the dress to make the steps easier, and with the slight backless design ~ I opted for no veil as the design was perfect as is.

Purchased in a size 12, the Prea James team recommended using their seamstress for alterations in Marrickville, and I altered the dress by hemming, taking in the waist and bust and having a bustle added to make it easier for walking around at the reception.

The day after the wedding I dropped it off for a dry clean, and there are only light marks on the inside hem of the train (shown in the video, but as they are only ever so light, the camera wasn't able to pick it up). The dress is in wonderful condition, only requires a steam before wearing. It is currently being stored in a dress box that I am happy to include with the dress, as well as the Prea James garment bag.

A very hard decision to part with my Margot dress but would prefer another bride to get to experience its magic rather than it sitting tucked away in a box!

Based off our best-selling Mira gown, the Margot offers our popular cowl Mira top with spaghetti straps and an A-line skirt, making the gown ideal for brides who do not want their dress to hug too firmly over the hips. This modern and fashion forward silhouette features a slight scoop bodice with a bias cut cowl drape over the bust. The thin spaghetti straps offer a more delicate finish to the gown.

While the Margot gown features a cowl neck design, it also has a waist seam, which gives a more flattering shape for different body sizes. The back is slightly lowered and so quite open, but high enough there is some support. Our stretch satin fabric is not only beautiful but incredibly comfortable to wear, and reflects the light beautifully in all your wedding photos.
