Exquisite, one-of-a-kind couture gown. Nearly flawless ballgown with internal corset and crinolines all attached as they were intended. Basque-waist. Sweetheart neckline edged with white scalloped eyelash lace, handsewn to point d'esprit tulle. That same lace adorns the full skirt in two layers and overlay an ivory under layer. Sleeves are the same "lace applied to tulle technique" with bell cuffs. All buttons are intact. The zipper is in working order and the corset is complete with undamaged hooks. The dress originally came with silk flowers that were attached to the shoulder. I still have the flowers, however some have yellowed. They will come with the dress for reference. Dress was preserved by a museum curator that packed it in acid-free tissue in an acid-free box to prevent any damage over time. Considerations: there are two small light yellow stains at the hem, a small tear in the hem, and a small tear in the lace on the shoulder blade- all noted in pictures. There is also minimal glue residue from the flower placement- please see video. All photos and video were taken 1/2024 after unboxing and steaming. There is no odor. I am 5'8" and with 3" heels (no platform) the hem was perfect.
This gown was my dream and it is still, to this day, the most beautiful item I have ever owned. The hand-crafted workmanship is perfection.
