The Dress

Danielle Frankel Noa dress.

I wore this on my wedding day August 2023. Bought new from Browns Bride and ordered from the designer in New York.

I was measured in Browns for my nearest size in the designer, which was a US 4, equivalent to a UK 8/10. This fit exactly in the body and I had hardly any alterations made (see alteration details), so you can consider this to be still the designer's size.

I wear a 32D bra and wanted a dress which felt structured and "held in", whilst giving a flowing, relaxed "slip dress" look. This fulfilled all my expectations and more. It was extremely comfortable, did not ride up or down, and gave me structure and support while looking effortless. I couldn't recommend it higher.

The outer fabric is a silk/wool mix which sounds warm but actually was quite fine. I was in Italy in August and don't remember specifically feeling hot. It has a beautiful gloss/glow to it, especially at night as in the photographs above.

I have had this dry cleaned at a specialist cleaner. There are a few pulls to the fabric in places, which careful attention from a seamstress should improve. There are some very light stains to the edge of the interior lining skirt in places. If you're having this taken up these will easily come off; if not they are hardly visible and on the inside. No other stains.

Alterations

All alterations were done at Browns Bride:
- Length: I am 172cm and wore a kitten heel. Approx 8cm. were taken from the front hem only.
- Sleeves: I had these widened slightly in the upper arm and elbow. You can easily take this back in if needed, but I found it was easier to move with a little more room.
- Sleeve length: I had approximately 5cm. taken from the sleeves so they would hit mid-hand rather than trailing over my knuckles.
- Loop: a discreet stitched loop was added so I could pick up the train
