The Dress

This dress was perfect for a rustic fall wedding at an outdoor venue, but would work in almost any venue setting. It is unique in that it is no longer available through David's Bridal. The dress has lace appliques and hand-beaded metallic embellishments. The beads are designed to have a vintage feel, so they have discrete color variation. The metallic beads and strategically placed sequins provide sparkle! This dress not only made me feel like a bride, but also made me feel like a princess! Some of our younger wedding guests thought I was a Disney princess in it! The addition of the silver belt adds definition to the waistline and a little more sparkle.

The dress fit me like a glove (5' 4"; 120 lbs)! By altering the sleeves, I was able to dance to my hearts content and move comfortably the whole night.

The dress has been dry cleaned. There are no stains on the dress. There may be light wear and tear on some of the beading (it can catch on the lace), but it is not noticeable unless under close examination.

Alterations

Dress was fitted so that the sleeves are on-the-shoulder, not off-the-shoulder. Dress was hemmed to fit a 5'4" person wearing 1.5" - 2" heels. The dress has an American bustle with 5 buttons in the tulle layers. The bustle was placed strategically to blend in with the lace appliques. The under layers are also bustled with 3 buttons for the under layers. The silver beaded belt was sewn into the dress to lay naturally at the waist. The dress was taken in by about 1/2" in the waist to fit someone around 120 lbs. Total alterations value: $450.00
