Never altered size 16W. Worn once. When I purchased, it was around $800, and this model is still on the DB website with a video if you search the item number. I'm 5'9" without shoes and it was already the perfect length for me plus the corset back means it is very forgiving if you are in the general size range. I never had a bustle added as we had an intimate ceremony/space and no need to accommodate dancing, etc. I'm a DD-chested girl and this covered me plenty enough while also accentuating curves. I had a sash but it's not necessary. The dress material and shape make it a timeless and lovely gown on its own if you're going for a classic look. The underskirt has just enough "poof" to add shape without making the dress overly heavy or awkward. Any questions, just ask!
