The Dress

I bought this beautiful dress last year from a bridal shop and have worn it once for my wedding this spring. I love how light weight this dress is, I wore it all day and night with no discomfort at all, I could walk/dance in it no problem. It has an A-line overskirt but particularly in certain lighting you can see through this to the silky underlay sheath - best of both worlds! There are no marks on the dress, the only damage is very slight scuffing of the inside of the underlay skirt that drags on the floor, although this would not be seen, and there's some mild fraying to the bottom of some of the tulle. The video of the dress is from after it has been worn and cleaned so you can see this, it is only visible on very close inspection and only affects the very end of the tulle so could be cut off.

Alterations

I had the dress altered to make the bodice smaller, I am normally a UK size 8 top and a size 10 bottom. I had the length shortened so it touched the floor at the front and had about a foot of train at the back- I am 5 foot 3 and wore 4 inch heels. The seamstress added in a hook and eye at the top of the zip for extra hold, and for both the straps to connect at the back. She also added a small ribbon on the bottom of the silk underlayer so I could tie the underneath up for when I took my heels off. There's a wrist strap hidden amongst the tulle to hold that up also.
