The Dress

A take on her popular La Lune dress, Marseille gown is a shorter sleeved version of the same style- perfect for a more relaxed and beachy/casual vibe. Words cannot describe how beautiful this dress is... the way she moves is amazing! Super comfortable and very flattering in photos. I actually had my heart set on this dress two years before I was even engaged.

This dress was sewn by Lou, the owner of Luna Bea herself, and shipped from the UK. Although the dress was made to order I took my measurements straight after I had my son (with the dress not being worn until about 8 months after this for the wedding) so it arrived closer to a size 12. As a result I had it altered to fit my current size (8). Due to its loose/flattering style I would assume that it could easily be fitted for anyone sizes 6-10. My weight was fluctuating a bit before the wedding and it was easily tightened with the tie. The dress is affixed by a small button sewn inside the dress. Its very easy to have this removed and resewn to your specific waist measurements. In addition to this I had the train cut shorter as closer to the wedding I decided I wanted it a bit shorter. The front of the dress was also taken up a bit so it was a high to low style (still not very high at all!)

From the top of the shoulders to the end of the train at the back of the dress the length is 178cm.
From the top of the shoulders to the highest part of the front of the dress the length is 130cm.
I am 175cm, I wore 7.2cm heels.

Luna Bea only makes a limited number of dresses each year and has been featured in both Vogue and the Lane. Not only is this style rare, the dress is also a great option for someone who does not what to go through the tedium of having to wait for a dress to be ordered, made, and shipped (shipping alone cost me another several hundred dollars!). The dress is in perfect condition and has been professionally dry cleaned.

Alterations

The dress was bought in at the waist and bust as I was larger post partum when I first gave Lou my measurements. In addition to this the train was made slightly shorter and the front of the dress was bought up to expose my feet.
