I loved this dress so much. At least one person did a genuine double take when they saw me!
This is an incredible 1930s-style bias cut silk dress. It is sheath cut but with a very slight A-line flare which is very flattering. The diagonal seam that runs from front to back is very true-to-era and highlights your figure without being clingy. The high boat-neck is very elegant and modest which contrasts with the plunging back, again very 30s. The bias cut is incredibly flattering; it moves across your form like liquid. No issues with being see-through - I wore some proper Bridget Jones underwear (Spanx suit your fancy) and no visibility at all.
Changed my dress after ceremony so this has only been worn for 3/4 hours.
The vibe: I wore it as 1930s Old Hollywood Glamour, with long opera gloves and finger waves. Downton abbey eat your heart out! You could style it to give a 1920s Great Gatsby vibe with a forehead tiara and a feather shrug. If you want to aim for Marilyn Monroe at the Oscars this dress can do that too. Or a modern vive with a pair of spiky Valentinos and a low ponytail!
It rained the weekend of my wedding, and so the hem was slightly muddy. It has been expertly cleaned by professionals with dedicated understanding of delicate fabrics such as this. Packaged by these same experts in a storage box as shown in last image - this storage is designed to keep wedding dresses beautiful for years to come and will be included in sale.
I can no longer see any discolouration on the hem when I look for it. The last three photographs (the ones with the branding) show the exact dress after professional cleaning was complete. I can provide additional photos if you like.
NB fifth photo is clearly not me, but shows the back of the dress better than any of mine (as I am being careful to avoid showing faces of any guests). More photos available on request.
All sensible offers considered - this dress made me feel like a queen and I want someone else to feel that way in it!
(1) Cowl added to the back instead of the original two thin dangling straps (Google for original back - Pronovias objected when I added a stock photo to the listing). Very elegant but easily removed if you’d prefer a plain back.
(2) The very long hem and train was shortened for my height (5’10” and a half in heels).
(3) Cleaned and stored by professional wedding dress restorers.
