Lela Rose, The Darlington

Even before I got engaged, I knew that I wanted to wear Lela Rose to my wedding, and I am so happy that I did! During the selection process, I was between two options (Darlington and Sutton) and ultimately chose The Darlington because of its timelessness, incredibly flattering silhouette, and simple yet elegant design. I wanted a dress that made me feel special without being too over-the-top or trendy. Even though I was not originally planning on wearing a strapless dress because I thought I was too athletic/broad-shouldered to pull it off, this dress changed my view. It's a universally flattering dress and met all of my needs!

A few notes:
- I am 5'10" and wore flat sandals to my wedding so it's fitted to my exact height.
- I did not gain or lose significant weight before the wedding but given the nature of the corsetted top, felt like I didn't need to be too careful post-fitting/pre-wedding about any changes in my body because it held everything in place and didn't slide around with movement.
- I changed into a silk jumpsuit for the dancing portion of the night so I didn't dance in the dress but it was not so heavy or restrictive that I couldn't.
- Immediately after the wedding, I got it professionally dry-cleaned by a wedding dress specialist and it has been in a protective box ever since.
