I loved wearing this dress!
Truvelle is a Vancouver based designer and I bought this at a small boutique in Chicago. I was drawn to the Lucinda because it is beautiful, modern, and fun. The jacquard fabric is very unique and really makes it stand out from other dresses with similar cuts. It looks like delicate paintbrush strokes, with a shimmer that is whimsical without being over the top. I got many many compliments on it!
I love the bodice, with comfortable boning and a super flattering scoop neckline that reminds me of a ballet leotard. I love the pockets (!), where I tucked away my cell phone later in the evening so it was handy for photos. The skirt and train made a statement without being too voluminous (and they bustled up nicely so I could dance all I wanted). It's all lined with satin, so I was very comfortable despite the warm June weather!
The skirt had dirt on the bottom from our wedding day, but I had the dress professionally dry cleaned and there aren't any remaining stains or blemishes.
Alterations
I had the skirt hemmed slightly, the straps slightly shortened, and bustles added in the back. I'm 5'8'' and wore flats.
