The Dress

Wedding gown custom made in New Zealand over three months by Vinka Design (located in Auckland’s CBD).

Price: Bought for $9,000 and selling for $6,250.

Size: I’m a size 8 - 10, and I’m 175 cm tall. Anita, the owner of Vinka Design, has confirmed that she’s happy to undertake alterations to the gown to make it perfect for you.

Main ingredients and composition: Top half - one layer of beaded and clear sequinned lace (sewed, not glued, for durability) with carefully placed applicae / tight embroidery. Bottom half - three layers, with the top layer being silk chiffon panels (which float in the wind), the middle layer being the lace mentioned above / on the top half and the final / not visible layer being lining.

Quality: The dress has been worn once. It’s been dry cleaned. There’s no damage (which the dry cleaner is happy to confirm) and it’s as good as new.

Collection / delivery / trying on: I live in Queenstown for trying on / collection purposes, but I commute to Auckland and Christchurch fortnightly / monthly for delivery purposes. Otherwise, delivery by special post can be arranged.
