The Dress
A bright-white fairytale dress, probably from the 1980s, in excellent condition. Marie Antoinette / shepherdess / "Gone with the Wind" style, with the outer skirt swagged to ribbon bows to show the underlying lace flounce. There are side loops for a long sash, allowing a large bow at the back; the dress can be worn without it, as in the first photo. The sleeves are sheer lace, and the bodice is lined. The skirt has 5 layers, of lace, tulle and polyester (last photo, taken in shade, so the colour isn't accurate). Wonderfully swishy.
Labelled to fit bust 80cm, waist 60cm, hip 85cm. It fits well on the mannequin at bust 85cm, but you need to allow room for underwear and breathing. The dress is short- or high-waisted; with underarm to waist measuring 18cm, and waist to hem, 111cm.
It fastens at the back with a hook-and-loop (repaired after the photo) above a zip.
Has been hand-washed.
From a smoke-free home.
See totnessvintage.com for bridesmaids' dresses in a similar style (under Mid-19th century) in pink and blue, mainly size 8, each one different. + one pink, size 12-14.
