About the Dress

We had a formal/informal event with a black tie wedding at a very old Catholic church followed by a fun reception at a colorful Children's Museum. This dress combined the perfect amount of glamour and elegance (with the lace detail, beading, and long tool train) while also keeping it fun and light for the reception (with the light and flowy tool skirt bustled). This dress made me feel like a bride while also showing off my petite frame. I felt absolutely beautiful all night long and am also so happy with how the dress looked in all of our pictures.

In terms of fit, I had the dress tailored to fit very snug as I did not want to be pulling up this strapless beauty all night. The tailor added some boning in the corset to achieve this and it worked. The measurements I listed are straight from the tailor. The only major complaint I had about this dress is that the bustle was very difficult. The train is entirely tool/chiffon and has multiple layers, which required the buttons to be clear and the white loops to be pulled through multiple layers. We practiced at the bridal shop the week before and had a system down but it still took a whole team of bridesmaids/moms to find all of the loops, secure them to the buttons, and tuck everything in. It was a process, but we did it and it was worth it for this beautiful gown. The bustle is in tact and functional.

As for condition, the dress looks great. I did not spill on it and there are no tears or rips. We were mostly indoors with the exception of one walk through a garden so the dress is pretty clean even though it has not been dry cleaned. The interior lining of the train and the bust as well and the bottom edges of the skirt/train shows some dirt. These should easily come out with dry cleaning.

Alterations
