The Dress

This is a genuine Essence of Australia wedding dress which was purchased at an Essence of Australia trunk show in 2020. The trunk show was showcasing styles for the 2021 catalogue, but this dress did not make it into the catalogue, so it is considered a 'one-of-a-kind ' style. The designer said only a few of these dresses were sold worldwide, so it really is a unique design!

The dress was purchased in January 2020 but was not worn until April 2022 (due to the pandemic). The dress has only been worn once for 6 hours and has since been professionally dry-cleaned. It is in immaculate condition. There are no marks, stains, or damage to it at all. It looks new.

This a sheath-style dress which is very simple and classic looking from the front. However, all the detail is in the back. Your guests will be wowed whilst you stand at the altar! The upper back features a beautifully detailed pattern that runs under your arms and down to your wait. The pattern then trails off into a 6 ft. cathedral train where the last 3 ft. showcase the same beautifully detailed pattern again. Small, white buttons trail all the way down the back of the dress from the neck to the floor. The upper buttons on the dress act as fasteners to secure and cover the central zip underneath. The lower buttons create a streamlined look and provide additional support for the bustle.

A bustle was professionally added to this dress. Two, small, sewing poppers were attached to the lower half of the dress to hold up the side pieces of the bustle. A tiny string was added to the middle of train which can loop over a button on the lower half of the dress to hold the main bustle securely. I can provide a video of how to make the bustle, if required. The bustle holds very steady once it is set and I was able to dance with the bustle up.

This dress is made from an ivory crepe material with a matte finish, so it does not pick up shine like satin does. This dress is incredibly lightweight and comfortable. It is easy to move in and does not gather in any areas. I was able to dance the night away in it without any problems or discomfort. It also has in-built breast padding, so you do not need to wear a bra with this dress. The padding and fitting of the dress provide excellent support, so your breasts stay very secure when you are moving/dancing around. The padding also prevents your nipples showing!

You should wear seamless underwear with this dress since it is so fitted. Spanx or Wear Commando provide excellent undergarment options. Personally, I wore a nude thong with this dress, but the designer also said you can wear high-waisted Spanx or shorts to give a more smoothing and supported look. You will just want the Spanx to end a little lower on your leg, so you do not see the line.

This really is a stunning dress that is one-of-a-kind. I received unbelievable amounts of compliments from people whenever I put it on. Even strangers in the bridal shop and the seamstress told me how beautiful and unique the dress was. I had so much fun wearing it too. It really is so comfortable and flatters any figure. With its clean and classic design, this dress really is perfect for any wedding.
