The Dress

This gorgeous Berta dress was my dream dress and I was very lucky to be able to wear to my wedding 6 weeks ago! As hard as it is for me to let go of it, I think it's ready to make the next bride very happy. This perfect blend of glam and subtlety is my go-to style and I loved all the compliments I received at my wedding thanks to the dress. It photographs amazingly, the sequins glisten in the sun for the daytime part of the wedding and they are also very eye catching (without being a cliche) in night photography.

This is an A-line dress with quite a roomy (but not puffy) skirt, so I'd say you need to focus on the corset size the most, the skirt will fit anyway. The corset (Bust, waist and bodice) are NOT stretchy so make sure to read the measurements! I'm 5'3 and 112 lbs, my bust size is 33 in, waist is 26 in, and hips is 36 in. It was a nicely snug fit for the waist and a comfortable fit for the bust and the bottom.

The dress features a sweetheart neckline with beautiful embroidery on it in ivory and pinkish nude colors (ask for pictures, the colors are extremely subtle). The embroidery continues down beautifully to the waist, making the dress look gorgeous and truly 'designer' from the side. I opted to remove the wide lace straps that come with the dress, I thought it made it look like a wrapped gift box in a way.

I added pieces of the sequin lace to the cups on top to give a glistening effect as you can see in the pictures, used fabric glue for that.

The corset part is fairly transparent, the cups are an opaque beige color with white/ivory lace on top, while the rest of the corset is very sheer all round with sequins and embroidery.

The skirt is also sheer with several sheer ivory and white layers, there's an opaque ivory bodice with the same sequins on them and it shows through the skirt, see the dress on the official website here https://www.berta.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/0O7A4837.jpg

My favorite thing about the dress was how light it was, not at all a hassle to wear. Few things to keep in mind:

- This dress is in IVORY color, not white or off white, but looks lighter in pictures.
- The dress is altered in several ways, please ask me for pictures for the specific alterations mentioned above.
- This is a tulle dress with a corset bodice, so if you're not used to wearing corsets tulle, you might find it less soft than say satin dresses.
- The skirt is fairly sheer, the bodice will show in direct sunlight or when you move in a way that removed layers from your legs.

Alterations

A beige layer was removed form the skirt and it was hemmed to my height (floor length for a 5'3 bride with 4 inch heels!). I also removed the straps and used fabric glue to create the beautiful sequinned lacy parts on top of the cups(not part of the original design). I also used fabric glue to close the slit a little bit, still considerably high. Added fabric pads to the cups as well, can easily be removed. The corset cups were tightened too. All these alterations are small and wouldn't be noticed if you didn't know about them, this dress would look incredible on a smaller person with petit waist and anywhere between A to C cup size.
