The Dress

This dress is a classic yet modern style that flowed wonderfully & made me feel utterly beautiful. In perfect condition, professionally dry-cleaned & stored archivally, this dress was only worn (joyfully) for about 5 hours. The corseted bodice was surprisingly comfortable, & even the voluminous skirts were not too hot. With the ball gown silhouette, it has plenty of hip/butt room, & is so flattering.

This is the Morilee (by Madeline Gardner) Marissa dress, style #5504, ivory/light gold, it’s still being sold, so & you could probably go try it on in one of the bridal shops to see how it looks on you in person. You can definitely check out the more official description on the Morilee website. It comes with a sparkling rhinestone belt that I chose to leave off in favor of a small cluster of fresh flowers on my hip.
The video is of me when I first tried on the sample at the store, testing it out with walking & dancing—it ended up looking ahhhmazing for my husband’s & my first dance.

It’s such a gorgeous dress, I kind of don’t want to sell it, but it really does take up quite a bit of storage space, & besides—it deserves to give as much happiness to someone new, as it did to me!

Alterations

The dress is still a true size 12, the only alterations were to take up the hem slightly (in low heels I’m about five foot eight and a half, the skirt doesn’t *quite* touch the floor for me now), & to add a couple of loops & pretty little buttons to the back of the skirts, to bustle it up after the ceremony. There are spaghetti straps (that came as an option with the dress) stitched in place, but those are easily changed, or even removed for a strapless look. I’m not super busty, but I liked the straps to not ever have to hike up the top ever, haha.
