The Dress

The Way It Made Me Feel:
This dress is a special find. The “Chauncey” gown made me fall in love all over again, with not only the dress, but the idea of how I feel towards my husband. I knew this was the one for me. I felt absolutely beautiful on the day of my wedding! The best version of me.

This is a truly classic lace dress with gorgeous capped sleeves, leaf detailing on the bust line, a scooped semi-sheer back, a hint of sparkle, and TO-DIE-FOR floral motifs that line the hem. This style of lace is soft, graceful, and feminine. One that showcases all the right things and hides the lesser great parts! I loved the uniqueness of the capped sleeve, as many gowns are sleeveless. The style of lace was difficult to find, but once found, I fell head over heels for it.

The train was a show stopper and I loved how my wedding photos came out with the softness and grace of this wedding dress! The sun picks up on the lace motifs and almost makes them glow.

My bridesmaids were astounded with how gorgeous I looked - many cried tears of joy. My husband even let out a few tears as I walked down the aisle (he’s not a crier!)

Weight/Functionality:
The dress is on the lighter weight side, for ease of transitioning from place to place, as I found on my wedding day. Lastly, the “Chauncey” dress fit me like a glove without restricting movement too much, less with raising my arms up overhead.

I hope someone can enjoy it just as much, if not more, as I did for their wedding day!!

Alterations

ALTERATIONS:
-The dress is lined from the sweetheart neckline and runs gracefully down the sides along the scooped back. The sheer lace shows through on the low back. The sides of the dress convey a gradual, fluid transition from lining around the bust and torso to a sheer, lace overlay.
-A shortened hem in front by ~1 inch for walking down the aisle safely and with ease (petal motifs still intact).
-There are push-up bra pads sewn into the bust.
-The plunging front neckline has a floral-designed motif sewn on the bust for additional coverage.
-There are 5 seamless small hooks in the back to build the bustle (please, see last photo).

ALTERATION PRICING:
The original price of the dress was $2,300. With alterations, the change to bust, strap tightening, hem line length, insert of material for coverage over torso, and price of material came down to $750.

We also cleaned the dress with a company that uses organic and eco-friendly cleaning supplies /processes for $300. It looks even better than when we bought it!

This dress is a steal for everything we’ve put into and cared for it!
