The Dress

Gorgeous glamorous dress, fit very well for a curvy ,hourglass girl. I chose it for the lovely white pearl and diamante embroidery on the corset, the gorgeous lace up back, the shimmer in the skirt and just how flattering it was to a curvy figure. It has the right balance of class and sophistication and a little bit of sparkle. I had so many compliments on the day!

I was a size 16 when I bought it and lost weight and it still fitted because the corset top was so adjustable. I just needed a strapless bra when I slimmed to a 14 to fill out the top a little. Bought it when I was a size 16 and DD bra size so that should fit perfectly. So it will adjust to you if you lose a little/gain a little.The long corset back keeps everything " in place" so the top is comfortable and doesn't slip.

Very comfortable all day. A guest bustled it for me for the evening do (it has a long train) and I danced all night with a great swing (see picture and video!). I have had this professionally dry cleaned. The dress has a bit of embedded dirt in the 5mm hem of the satin look layer that the dry cleaning didn't remove - however there are 6 layers of net on top of this so it won't be visible. The second to top layer is translucent sequins that catch the light in a subtle and pretty way.

** We learned on the wedding day- from a guest who was a seamstress -that us shorter ladies need to learn to 'bustle' it which means use the ribbon inside it to shorten it to your height. Once it was bustled it was so easy to move in, it was a dream.

Alterations

Under the full length satin middle layer of the dress is a netted underskirt .I had this shortened a 6 inches (I am 5ft 3 without shoes) so my feet and legs had more room to maneuver. As it's under so many layers of fabric, you'd never know this alteration was performed, there is no way of telling from the outside. If you're shorter, like me, this may be helpful!
