The Dress

This dress is nothing short of stunning. It hugs your curves in all the right places and gives you this amazing hourglass figure. It moves well and the beautiful crepe fabric holds its shape while still being forgiving. The square neckline, deep open back and custom buttons all the way to the start of the godet create this timeless silhouette. I felt beautiful and elegant in this dress, just thinking of the feeling I had when I put it on for the first time makes me smile. My husband's jaw dropped when he saw me in it for the first time... the exact reaction I wanted!

I had it tailored so that the straps hug the shoulders and so the flare of the bottom of the dress started just below the knees creating a trumpet silhouette. This bodice of the dress is supportive and unbelievably flattering for those who are large or small chested. There is one ribbon on the inside of the train to create a bustle (very easy to do).

I have had the dress professionally cleaned. There are no stains or imperfections seen on the outside of the dress. The only sign of wear is on the inside of the bodice where I had my tailor attach cups. I took the dress off after dinner and put on another dress to dance so there was no spilling or chance for it to be ripped etc.

Alterations

Completed alterations include:
Raising the flare at the bottom of the dress so that the trumpet shape is achieved just below the knee.
No alterations were done to the waist area.
The straps were shortened so that they would not slip off the shoulders.
The dress was shorted to accommodate my height + shoes.
I also ordered the dress from Alyssa Kristin with the customization of adding buttons all the way to the start of the godet (below my bottom).
