The Dress

Stunning bead and lace gown by Maggie Sottero. Bought as a size 24 sample and altered to fit me (size 16 top and 18 on hips/bum). It has a scoop neck, three quarter length sheer sleeves, a gorgeous low back with beautiful lace, button and zip details. The train is around 3ft long. It can be worn with hoop (included and worn in photos) or without for a narrower silhouette at the base. It also comes with a simple beaded belt (not shown in photos) which really emphasises the waist. It can be bustled, as pictured, or have the train free flowing. The dress can be altered further to suit your figure, but not made very much smaller due to existing alterations.

It is really comfortable to wear and I felt like a queen in it at every fitting! I was so sad not to wear it, but after four COVID cancellations, we gave up and went to Gretna Green, so our wedding ended up being very low-key, and while I love this dress, it didn’t ‘fit’ the vibe (I wore a boho dress from John Lewis!). So I want to find someone to love it, and finally wear it!

Alterations

The neckline has been lowered; size reduced from 24 to 16/18.
Hemline raised but would suit most brides as I’m 5’7”, and wore 4” heels at fittings.
