The Dress

I am will to deliver and/or meet for an exchange if you are within an hour of Albany, NY (or two hours if we are meeting half way).

This dress feels like slipping into pure luxury, and I love it deeply. I tried on hundreds of dresses and nothing compared.

Duchesse Satin gown with sweetheart neckline, draped sleeves, and cross-over pleated bodice with fabric buttons to waist. Full, double box pleated skirt WITH POCKETS! The color is Pearl. It’s definitely a warmer toned white, but I wouldn’t quite call it ivory. Does not come with belt pictured.

It’s certainly a sophisticated ballgown, fit for a formal wedding, but I was actually envisioning it at our outdoor Cape Cod wedding — a sort of a J Crew/ yachting vibe.

Bought the sample of this dress in a pre-covid world and our wedding plans changed about 10 times since, necessitating a much more casual dress. This dress is in fabulous condition, and the bridal studio very generously worked with me to buy the sample because we were on a tight timeline then. It fit me almost perfectly so no alterations have been made. We were considering making the sleeves detachable for dancing, which my seamstress said would be very simple if that is something you’d be interested in. It also has three layers of crinoline, so you have some options there too in terms of how full you want the skirt.

The dress is being stored in a climate controlled space with the studio I purchased it from.

My measurements have changed quite a bit since I last had this dress on, but in the picture I am a true size 8, and probably a 38 C.
