The Dress

Selling my beloved-by-all, incredible, absolute show-stopper of a wedding gown.

My beautiful dream dress is now looking for its new home. It served me so well on the day, and I love the idea that one day it might see someone else happily marry the love of their life.

The dress had some major modifications made, so please take note of the measurements as they are the best to go off. I ordered the dress in a size 14, being only a street size 10 at the time. The bust needed to remain the same size with significant tightening around the waist.

The structure of my dress was the hook for me. The waterfalls of fabric don't fall lifeless onto the rest of the dress, but are tendrilled in large sweeps creating the most beautiful full bodied skirt I have ever seen. It has a gorgeous train of more layered material for volume - there is nothing plain and flat about this dress. There is an option to bustle the train which I did for the dance floor.

The bodice is covered in gorgeous beading and details an intricate pattern finished with a satin ribbon where the bodice meets the skirt. The thin straps are detailed with beading as well, and I had some extra material inlayed under the armpits to prevent chafing - can confirm, it worked wonders.

My dress is the most magical shade of ivory, techincally called "Moscato", and in my opinion shows undertones of blush.

It is a full length gown, with some heaviness to it but I certainly didn't feel weighed down. In fact, I actually think it made me feel more secure moving around.

I wore Kate Spade sneakers underneath because you couldn't see my shoes under the dress, but you could wear any kind of heel and the dress will still give you good length (not too short) because the skirt is so volumous.

And finally, just in case you're inclined to know, I am still happily married to my soulmate. My wedding day was the most special day of my life, second only to the birth of my son. The day could not have been more perfect, and my dream dress played a huge part in making that happen.
