Notting Hill based Jane Bourvis's store specialises in vintage wedding dresses from the 1920s & 1930s. The atelier is well known for restoring and re-creating beautiful authentic antique wedding dresses, with many of the pieces having featured on film and TV, from Sex and the City to Sherlock.
This dress was bought from Jane in need of restoration with the help of Jane I restored parts of the antique lace that had aged, I am a trained Tailor.
This antique wedding dress would suit a UK size 6-8. The dress was only worn at the church ceremony so has had minimal wear in my possession. There is a small tear under the arm pit. I have reduced the price to hopefully reflect this.
It is important not to expect machine-like consistency the antique lace will be non-uniform and will have some imperfections. These characteristics and uniqueness of antique lace should be considered a mark of its authenticity.
