Bibowden Bridal Couture

Evita gown by Bibowden Designs. Dress is made from ivory silk zibeline. The fabric has a slight texture and a beautiful glow. The bodice is figure hugging and designed to be tight over the hips and waist, which helps keep the dress in place. It has an invisible zipper which is hidden by silk-covered buttons. The buttons do up over the zip. The sash came undone during cleaning. I have left it undone so the next owner can place it as they please. It simply needs to be tied and tacked in place. Alternatively, you could remove it and add your own embellishments (floral belt? coloured sash? beaded sash? lace?)

Price includes a one-hoop petticoat, especially designed for fit and flare gowns. Veil is not included. Mine was a simple one-layered raw‚œedged silk tulle veil, but any type of veil could be worn with this dress.

Sizing ‚œ the gown was made to fit me and had to be taken in just before the wedding. Its approximately an 8. Bust measurement would be approx 87 cm (34inches), waist 69 cm (27inches) and hips 99cm (39 inches). The dress was very snug on me just under the bust (where the sash is) on the day. Dress itself measures approx 64cm (25 inches) in this area. There are padded cups which could easily be removed to give a little more space in the bust area. I am 165cm tall and wore 10cm heels.

I wore this at my wedding on December 12, 2009. Its taken me a year to decide to part with it. It's a very simple dress, but made of beautiful fabric which photographs very well. If you are like me and lacy dresses make you look like you are wearing a giant doily, this might be the dress for you.

Mine was an outside wedding and the reception was on the veranda of an old Queenslander. The dress cleaned up beautifully, but a very close inspection will show some wear to the fibres of the fabric on the hem.
