The Dress
I spent another $400 to get this dress altered to turn the bolero shrug into the top part of the dress, because I didn’t want to spend the wedding worried about my top sliding too low! Our seamstress -- one of the best in D.C. -- turned it out beautifully with a row of buttons in the back and a bodice that made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I also got it shortened slightly to just below the knee. I’m 5’5” and usually wear an 18 on the top and a 20 on the bottom.
These alterations significantly changed the look of the dress in a way that was flattering and comfortable; it’s now one-of-a-kind and I’m so sad to see it go!! Size 10 lace ballet flats included — they worked great for me and hope they bring you joy too.
